Australian point guard Dante Exum may be the most intriguing player in the 2014 NBA Draft.

He went from a relative unknown who was at one time cut by an under-16 team in Melbourne, Australia to one of the elite prospects in the draft. He has recently been held in high-esteem and talked about with the likes of former Kansas Jayhawks’ center Joel Embiid, his college teammate, Andrew Wiggins, and former Duke Blue Devils’ forward Jabari Parker.
Now that Embiid has had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot, Exum could move into the top three. Although some view Exum as a bit of a risk because they are not sure if he will ultimately be a point guard or a shooting guard, Chad Ford of ESPN.com does not believe Exum will fall past the Philadelphia 76ers with the third-overall pick.
Dante Exum had a strong workout in Philly on Sunday. Don’t think he slides past 3.

Ford also believes Exum may be the smartest player available.
Sources in Orlando, Philly & Milwaukee all said Exum tested off the charts in psych testing. Might be most intelligent player in draft.

Exum measured in at 6’6 and 196 lbs. with a wingspan of 6’9.5 at the NBA’s Scouting Combine. Exum is ranked by Jonathan Givony of Draft Express as the fifth-best prospect in the draft.
