The Bulls are chasing a superstar like New York Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony, Miami Heat forward LeBron James or Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love and would also like to move up in the draft.
Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reports the Bulls are targeting the Denver Nuggets’ 11th-overall selection and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 13th-overall selection, both of which seem very available.
"The Bulls are also not sitting out the draft transaction window. They have been active in trying to combine their two draft selections, the 16th and the 19th picks. The sense is they’d rather have one player from this draft class a little further up the draft board and have been targeting the 11th pick from the Denver Nuggets and the 13th pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bulls have also made runs at Minnesota regarding Kevin Love, with an offer believed to be centered on Taj Gibson, Tony Snell and their two first-round picks."
The Bulls would likely like to acquire a shooter such as former Creighton Blue Jays’ forward Doug McDermott or former Michigan Wolverines’ swingman Nik Stauskas.
It could be a very busy night for the Bulls as they try to clear cap space in order to acquire Anthony. They also may make a run at Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson, who only has a partially guaranteed contract for the 2014-2015 season and guard Arron Afflalo, who is coming off a fantastic season.
