With just 24 hours left until the NBA Draft on Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks pulled off a blockbuster deal with the New York Knicks in which they acquired back Tyson Chandler. Of course, as with any deal of that nature, there is a domino effect, and as far as the Mavericks are concerned, it’s positive for them as they feel they can now get deep into the race for the two biggest free agents on the market, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

More from Dallas Mavericks

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas, with the deal to get Chandler back going through on Wednesday, the feeling now is that they are in prime position to land one of the coveted stars, hopefully then vaulting them back to an NBA Championship.

Now, it goes without saying that it seems a bit out of the realm of possibility that the team could land both LeBron and Anthony, but adding at least one of them to the roster would no doubt give them a huge boost of momentum.

With Chandler still having a few years left to give, and of course the shooting presence of Dirk Nowitzki, when they make their respective pitches to each player, the allure of coming to Dallas is definitely that much sweeter after the events that took place Wednesday afternoon.
