One of the players who is starting heat up in the 11th hour is Doug McDermott. The three point ace is starting to get more and more attention from teams picking in the lottery and he’s just getting more attention in general as well.

According to Joe Kotch from Sheridan Hoops and Pro Basketball Draft, there are several teams looking to trade up for McDermott and the Sacramento Kings may end up holding the No. 8 overall pick for ransom.

The Kings aren’t the only team who could trade down to allow someone to come up and scoop McDermott from the draft pile. The Los Angeles Lakers want to move the No. 7 overall pick and teams will have to try and move ahead of the Charlotte Hornets at No. 9 overall if they want to grab McDermott.

He hasn’t been as on fire a prospect as we thought he might be, but there is now growig interest in McDermott and someone in the lottery is going to benefit from trading down with a team who wants him worse than anyone else.
