There’s never been any doubt that, despite being one of the best players in the history of the Los Angeles Lakers franchise, Kobe Bryant would like some serious help at this point in his career to help accrue a few more titles to his resume. Right now, there are two of the biggest pieces of help on the free agent market that anyone could ask for in LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Indeed, there is a very good chance that one of these men could land out west in Los Angeles to create a dynamic duo, and according to ESPN, the Bryant has already spoken to Anthony about the possibility of coming to the Lakers.

"Though the Los Angeles Lakers are not on Anthony’s current list, Kobe Bryantplans to recruit him to the team. Bryant, who is close with Anthony, spoke to him by telephone when they were in separate parts of Europe earlier this week."

No, the Lakers aren’t on Anthony’s current list, however Kobe can be one of the most persuasive people on the planet. He can make the thought of winning titles with him under the Lakers banner very appealing to Anthony.

If anything hinders the chances at this point of a big-time free agent heading out to Los Angeles is the fact that they still do not have a coach following the resignation of Mike D’Antoni.
