The NBA Draft has come and gone and we are now left looking forward to what next season will bring. We won’t be hitting a true basketball void until later in the summer when free agency winds down and training camps begin to open, but for now we should relish in the basketball news we do have.

More from NBA

Free agency kicks off on July 1st and names like Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James will be floating around generating plenty of buzz. But while the free agency kick will be fun, one thing that all fans are looking forward to is the NBA schedule release for this upcoming season.

The NHL seems to rush into their schedule announcements for the next year but the NBA, like the NFL, sits on their announcement for a few months before giving the fans games we can expect to see.

We know generic things about the upcoming season, like the season will kick off at the very end of October and we will see games played on Christmas, New Years and other holidays throughout the year but what we don’t know is who will be playing in those games.

That’s something we will fund out in August, as the NBA is slated to release their official schedule of games at some point during the month. We don’t know what to expect in terms of a schedule but the bottom line is the schedule will be coming in August and it will provide a boost in interest we’ll definitely need.
