New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is one of the premier free agents in the 2014 class. There have been reports that the Los Angeles Lakers would like Anthony to come join them on the west coast, but the Lakers weren’t on the visit list for Anthony, which included the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.

Well it appears that the Lakers will get a face-to-face visit after all.

From Marc Stein of ESPN:

"Sources told ESPN.com that Anthony is in the process of arranging a trip to Chicago to meet with the Bulls, then intends to travel to Texas for Wednesday meetings with both the Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks.Sources say Anthony is likely to visit the Rockets first on Wednesday, followed by the Mavericks in the afternoon.Anthony, who maintains an offseason home in Los Angeles, is also expected to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers face-to-face next week."

Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant said he’d talk to Anthony about joining the Lakers.

From Chris Broussard of ESPN:

"Though the Los Angeles Lakers are not on Anthony’s current list, Kobe Bryant plans to recruit him to the team. Bryant, who is close with Anthony, spoke to him by telephone when they were in separate parts of Europe earlier this week.Bryant told ESPN.com in a text message that he plans to meet with Anthony, as well."

The Anthony sweepstakes took an interesting change.
