Carmelo Anthony is set to officially become a free agent on Tuesday, July 1 when the NBA Free Agency period officially begins. According to reports, Anthony already has a handful of visits set up, but there is another interesting team that will be in the mix.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Along with the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets, Carmelo Anthony is set to have a face-to-face meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The news comes from Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Anthony has an offseason home in Los Angeles, so meeting face-to-face with the Lakers will not be difficult or inconvenient for Anthony to line up.

As soon as the free agent market opens, Anthony will be  meeting with the Bulls, before traveling to Texas to meet with the Mavericks and Rockets.

It is going to be interesting to see how the Anthony saga plays out, but we can guarantee plenty of drama and speculation as he continues to sit on the market looking for a new home.
