Chandler Parsons is a hot commodity this offseason. With free agency beginning July 1, the Rockets are trying to convince Parsons that staying with them means playing for a contender. Parsons has reportedly received interest from the Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

More from Houston Rockets

Last season Parsons averaged 16 points, 4 assists, and 5.5 rebounds a game. He also had an effective field goal percentage of 53%, showcasing his efficiency and three-point shooting ability. Parsons’ ability to move off ball and shoot three pointers is highly valuable. He just finished his 3rd season and has tons of room to improve.

The Hornets are looking to add Parsons to give them a shooter, which they are in desperate need of. While signing Parsons would likely bring current starting small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to the bench, Parsons is still a capable defender and his ability on offense would make up for the drop off on defense.

The Lakers’ interest in Parsons is as simple as they are trying to acquire any talent they possibly can. A team devoid of starting caliber players last season, the Lakers would love Parsons to help return them to relevancy.

The Bulls are in a similar situation as the Hornets. They need the shooting. Chicago was in last place in effective Field Goal percentage last year, making them the worst shooting team in the NBA. Should the Bulls miss out on Carmelo Anthony, Parsons wouldn’t be too bad a consolation prize. Or, they could sign both of them. But that scenario is less likely.

The Timberwolves are the weird team among this list. Considering they’re about to trade Kevin Love, you would think they are trying to blow things up and start over. Not go after established talent.
