Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from June 30

Before officially welcome the month of July, we need to take a look back at the players that gave us the best fantasy baseball stats on the final day of June.

We got plenty of dominant performances, just not all from the expected people.

Jake Arrieta — Chicago Cubs

If this guy is still available in your league, don’t waste another moment. Sign him and sign him now. He’s not available in too many leagues, but far too many given how well he’s pitched.

In each of his last four outings, Arrieta has thrown at least seven innings, allowed no more than five hits, issued no more than one walk, surrendered no more than two earned runs, and recorded no fewer than nine strikeouts. He also happens to be 4-0 in that run.

Monday’s game against the Red Sox might have been the best of the bunch, taking a no-hitter two outs deep into the eighth inning. The pitch count kept him from going deeper once the no-no was gone, but this was a gem from one of baseball’s best breakout stars of 2014.

1. Steve Pearce — Baltimore Orioles

Another great game from another surprising star of 2014. I don’t know how long Pearce will hit like this, but don’t be afraid to right his hot streak out until it comes to an end.

If you don’t believe me or the numbers, ask Joe Saunders and the Texas Rangers. I’m pretty sure that they’ll confirm that if nothing else, Pearce is riding a nice hot streak.

2. Rajai Davis — Detroit Tigers

Not exactly a candidate for an across the board fantasy contribution, Davis is actually having a pretty good year at the plate. With one swing of the bat, Davis certainly gave his fantasy owners plenty of production on Monday.

Putting up numbers is about performing well and performing well when teammates give you an opportunity. Davis did exactly that on Monday, hitting a walk-off slam and his fantasy owners (excluding those in Oakland) got a pleasant little bonus from it.

3. Robinson Cano — Seattle Mariners

Hitting his second home run in as many days, maybe Robby is finally finding the power that can get him 25 or so homers in 2014.

Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but Cano was all over the place on Monday, narrowly edging out his opponent, George Springer, for the final spot on today’s countdown.
