Julius Randle is a young man with a lot of expectations on his shoulders after the Los Angeles Lakers selected him 7th overall in this year’s NBA Draft.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

The former Kentucky forward is not shying away from the spotlight, however, as he is ready to become an immediate force for the Lakers in his rookie season as they need him to be.

With Kobe’s health in question, as well as the fact that he is not getting any younger, Randle could potentially be seen as the next Laker great if he performs well next season.

For Randle, that is music to his ears, as he has been a die-hard Laker fan his whole life. Check out the video below where Randle talks about being a lifetime Laker fan, Kobe Bryant, a potential new nickname, and a lot more:

The best quote of the video comes when Randle is asked a few rapid fire questions including what animal he would choose to be if he was reincarnated:

"Kobe’s the Black Mamba, so I’ll be the Black Panther."

Only time will tell if the moniker sticks, but so far it seems to suit Randle just fine. Now let’s see what this kid can do on an NBA court.
