Oklahoma City Thunder sign Mitch McGary
By Josh Hill
The NBA Draft is over and done with and the task at hand for teams who made selections is to get the players they took under contract or allow them to stay overseas as they were when they were drafted.

The latter is not the case for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who used a first-round draft pick on Michigan Wolverines center Mitch McGary and are already thinking of ways they can use him to their advantage in big situations next postseason.
According to a press release from the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team has signed first-round draft pick Mitch McGary.
"Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has signed forward Mitch McGary. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed."
This is expected news but it’s housecleaning that the Thunder are excited to get done with. Now that he’s under contract, Oklahoma City can focus on morphing McGary into the role player they want him to be, as he’s a postseason player that the Thunder will groom during the regular season.
He may not get heavy minutes but there will no doubt be a lot of work thrown McGary’s way on and off the court. He’s a guy, like Steve Adams, that the Thunder are hoping can show up in the postseason and help them get over the hump they’ve been unable to the past few years.
