Fantasy Baseball Stats: Daily All-Stars from July 6

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. I used it to give myself a little break from the daily fantasy baseball stats recaps. But now that the weekend is over, we return.
Today, we have a couple of New York outfielders, and a few All-Star final vote pitchers, which is where we start.
Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP
Corey Kluber — Cleveland Indians

Remember before the season started when the Indians sleeper pitcher was not Kluber, but Danny Salazar? Yeah, I think we’d all like to forget about that one.
Kluber was completely dominant on Sunday, adding another great start to his stellar 2014 resume. If you vote for players based on their most recent games, then Kluber’s final vote chances were significantly aided by Sunday’s outing. Then again…
Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions
1. Garrett Richards — Los Angeles Angels

Richards is another final vote candidate, and as you can see, he was pretty stellar himself on Sunday.
Like Kluber, Richards wasn’t necessarily on many sleeper lists entering the year so if he’s on your roster, chances are he’s there with great value given his likely draft position.
2. Jacoby Ellsbury — New York Yankees

With the short right-field porch at Yankee Stadium, I was expecting a few more games like this from Jacoby when he signed with New York. Then again, this game came at Target Field, so I don’t know what it means.
The Yankees haven’t been great this year, but Ellsbury and his teammates produced a nice little day on Sunday against the Twins. I don’t know that Ellsbury is exactly a buy low candidate, but I am expecting a better second half once the dog days start to wear the pitchers down a bit.
3. Kirk Nieuwenhuis — New York Mets

Hands up if you were expecting this one. Wait, guys. Leave ’em up, I need a few minutes to count everyone.
Okay, this game helped essentially no fantasy players but as the numbers show, Nieuwenhuis was an across the board contributor for the Mets on Sunday. When that happens, it’s hard to be omitted.
