New York Yankees place Masahiro Tanaka on DL due to elbow inflamation
By Josh Hill
The New York Yankees are starting to have the bounce back year they needed and that has a lot to do with the success of starting ace Masahiro Tanaka. But while the success has put the Bronx Bombers back on the map, the good times have come to a temporary end.

According to the New York Post, the Yankees have officially placed Tanaka on the DL due to elbow inflammation.
"Masahiro Tanaka has left the Yankees and flown back to New York for an MRI exam on his right elbow, The Post has learned.Officially, Tanaka was placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow inflammation."
It’s unclear just how long it will take for Tanaka to get back to form, but he had a rough outing during his last start and it was clear that something was wrong with the Yankees ace. Hopefully it’s just routine maintenance that needs to be done to Tanaka’s arm and the starter isn’t starting to run out of gas.
The Yankees have been boosted by Tanaka’s amazing first year in the MLB, and it’s been something that has kept them relative and competitive in a suddenly stout AL East. The division is stacked and the Yankees are hoping that Tanaka can bounce back and continue to be the ace they need him to be to keep their postseason hopes alive.
