The race to be the first to announce where LeBron James is taking his talent to is on. Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com announced Wednesday on his site that his source informed that LeBron James was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

National media personalities were quick to discredit his report, saying that James hadn’t made a decision yet. Sheridan stood by his report that James was headed to Cleveland.

Syndicated ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd referenced Sheridan’s report, and a prior report that his source had James returning to Cleveland at 90 percent.

I wasn’t listening to Cowherd’s show, but apparently he said 95 percent which pushed Sheridan over the edge.

Watching your colleagues and fellow NBA writers/reporters contradict your report all night on Twitter can’t be fun, and Sheridan is understandably stressed about the situation. Still, it seems a little ridiculous to call Cowherd out on 5 percent, maybe Cowherd was splitting the difference between Sheridan’s 90 percent and 100 percent reports.
