Now that LeBron James has decided to leave the Miami Heat in a favor of a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NBA’s free agency frenzy can really begin.

More from Houston Rockets

The first domino that will fall is Heat free agent big man Chris Bosh, who is being pursued by the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are dealing point guard Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers in order to afford Bosh (and match the offer sheet Rockets’ restricted free agent Chandler Parsons signed with the Dallas Mavericks).

According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the Heat are targeting Rockets’ point guard Patrick Beverley in a potential sign-and-trade for Bosh.

"Bosh has been courted by the Rockets, and could be part of yet another superteam in Houston, where the Rockets have shooting guard James Harden and center Dwight Howard on hand. But the Rockets also have small forward Chandler Parsons in free agency, and Parsons has signed an offer sheet from the Mavericks. It would require Bosh to take a bit less than the maximum contract, but it is possible for the Rockets to both keep Parsons and sign Bosh, which might just be enough to move them into the West favorite slot alongside the defending-champ Spurs. According to a source, the Rockets and Heat have already engaged in sign-and-trade talks, with Patrick Beverley, originally signed by the Heat, as Pat Riley’s target."

Bosh averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 51.6% from the field, 33.9% from three and 82.0% from the free trow line last season. Beverley went for 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 41.4% from the field, 36.1% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the free throw line.
