On Friday afternoon, LeBron James announced he would be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers. As you would expect, there was plenty of excitement that followed.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Not only did that excitement show in the response from fans on social media, but in the team’s box office.

In the eight hours after LeBron James’ announcement, the Cleveland Cavaliers sold out of season tickets.

ESPN.com had more information:

"Prior to Friday, fans who were interested in buying season tickets had to put down a deposit of $200 per seat. Once James announced his intentions, the Cavaliers upped the deposit to a flat $500 fee, which would come out cheaper than the previous required deposit if someone ordered more than two tickets."

That is what we like to call the LeBron James effect, everyone.

It is great to see the fans in Cleveland, Ohio excited and energized about their basketball team once again and we can expect the arena to continue packed full of fans — unlike Miami — once the team starts having some success on the hardwood.

Welcome home, LeBron.
