For once, the Kansas City Royals are good and they don’t look like they’re going to fade as fast as they used to when they hit a hot streak. After hanging tight with the Detroit Tigers for a while, the Royals are looking to find some extra hitting help on the trade market and are cooking up some interest on the hot stove.

More from Boston Red Sox

What the Royals need is right-handed hitting and that’s something that Jonny Gomes could very much provide the team if the Boston Red Sox feel open to dealing him out West to Kansas City this month.

Should the Royals be able to swing a trade that lands them someone like Gomes, they all of a sudden become a serious threat to stay in the AL Central hunt even more so than they are now. Gomes is a bat the Royals need and while he’s not the only righty slugger Kansas City can trade for, he’s no doubt of special interest at the moment.
