We already all knew that Russell Westbrook won’t be on the roster by choice but Washington Wizards star John Wall won’t be either and not because he is choosing to be left off the roster.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the wizards star won’t initially be ont he Team USA World Cup roster for this summer but could end up getting added at a later date.
Not having Wall on the initial roster isn’t something that should get read into too much as there is a lot of talent on Team USA and only so many roster spots. Still, it’s a snub nonetheless but one that can be corrected and reserved should something happen later down the road.
Just like the Olympics, the FIBA World Cup acts much like the football World Cup we just saw conclude in Brazil as the world’s best national teams will compete to see who is the best and who will walk away as top dog. It’s an exciting tournament to watch and serves as the first true look at the upcoming basketball season.
