More from College

The Bulldogs started the day by picking up a commitment from Justin Johnson, a 6’4, 205-pound 3-Star wide receiver from Hoover High School in Alabama. They then landed 3-Star running back Alex Murphy. The 6’1, 222-pound Murphy is from Nixa, Missouri and attends Nixa High School. Next up was 4-Star running back Nick Gibson, a 5’11, 191-pounder who plays at Pinson Valley High School in Pinson, Alabama. The Bulldogs then landed their biggest recruit, 4-Star safety Jamal Peters. The 6’3, 200-pound Peters, who attends Bassfield High School in Mississippi, is the country’s third-rated safety prospect. 3-Star junior college defensive end Jonathan Calvin also committed to the Bulldogs. The 6’4, 255-pounder from Jackson, Mississippi could provide immediate help up front.

On Friday evening, 3-Star all-purpose running back Kieth Mixon and 3-Star athlete Jonas Spivey committed to the Bulldogs.

Mixon was the third running back to commit to the Bulldogs Friday, but all of them have very different strengths. The 5’10, 165-pounder is from Birgmingham, Alabama and attends Shades Valley High School. He is ranked as the country’s 22nd-best all-purpose back, the 30th-best overall prospect in the state of Alabama and the 978th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

The 6’0.5, 180-pound Spivey is also a dual-threat quarterback. He attends Bay Springs High School in Mississippi. He is ranked as the country’s 79th-best athlete prospect, the 20th-best overall prospect from the state of Mississippi and the 885th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015.

The Bulldogs now have 25 commitments in the class of 2015.
