Denver Broncos news: Cody Latimer looks fine during start of training camp
By Jack Crosby
After a stellar combine showing this past February, there were said to be a lot of teams interested in Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer. Some even pegged him as a first-rounder, but that did not happen. Instead, the Denver Broncos took a chance on him in the later rounds, leaving people then to believe that they had the steal of the draft.

In training camp on Thursday, he showed that he may indeed have been worth the pick, while at the same time proving that any sort of effects from his broken foot that held him out of OTAs is non-existent.
According to Troy Renck at the Denver Post, Latimer was one of the highlights of practice Thursday.
"Cody Latimer showed no issues with the broken left foot that limited him during OTAs. The rookie receiver caught a long touchdown pass from backup quarterback Brock Osweiler. The play-action pass fooled the safety and Latimer beat first-round pick Bradley Roby down the middle in the broken coverage. “The coaches called a great play,” said Latimer, who ran a 4.45 at the NFL combine with the foot injury and led all receivers with 23 reps on the 225-pound bench press. The Broncos considered him the best blocking receiver in the draft."
If Latimer keeps up the good work, and shows no signs of that foot hampering him going forward, then the Broncos may very well have gotten themselves a sleeper in Latimer.
