Things have gone from worse to worst for Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon. He is under indefinite suspension from the NFL for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Then he got arrested Wednesday night for alleged marijuana possession and a driving violation, according to the Edmond, Oklahoma Police Department.

Neck-deep in muddy problems, the wide receiver is safe on the Jaguars roster. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has said he will not be releasing the wide receiver.

Blackmon seems to be more likely in possession of drugs and alcohol than he does a football in the NFL offseason. It’s terrible to see two young and incredibly talented wide receivers struggle with substance abuse. And much like the Browns have reacted to the Josh Gordon’s struggles, the Jaguars are hoping to lend support. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley shared his thoughts on the situation.

With Jaguars receiver Ace Sanders taking a personal leave to deal with his four-game suspension, the team is left wanting at the position. They didn’t expect to have Blackmon for this season with his suspension.

The Jaguars have a great deal of young talent on their roster. They just need to get their players back on the field — or, perhaps, the players need to find their own way back.
