The MLB Trade Deadline is just around the corner which means that the Boston Red Sox are going to be kicking things into high gear when it comes to who they trade and who they try to acquire in said trades.

More from Boston Red Sox

Boston has already shipped starter Jake Peavy off to the San Francisco Giants and are looking at possible trade destinations for the likes of Jon Lester and Andrew Miller.

According to Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Pirates are among the teams interested in Andrew Miller and have been scouting him for a while.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Atlanta Braves are similarly interested in Miller as well.

The Braves and Pirates are in contention over in the National League but the Red Sox aren’t going anywhere fast, although they seem to be getting more streaky than before which is always a good start to a second half push.

But if they’re pawning off assets like Jake Peavy, Andrew Miller and possibly Jon Lester, then it doesn’t seem like Boston believes they’re going to be contending for much as the season continues on as the rebuilding for next year and beyond is already starting.
