Cam Newton turned one small gesture into a lifetime memory one Carolina Panthers fan will have for a lifetime.

More from Carolina Panthers

The NFL has had a slimy feel to it this offseason with a number of offseason arrests with Ray Rice and Greg Hardy taking center stage with their violent crimes against women, so if you’re looking for a role model for your son or daughter to look up to this season, look no further than Cam Newton.

Newton made it a point to tell Carolina Panthers fans that he is still not quite 100 percent after offseason ankle surgery over the weekend, but there is no questioning his heart is a robust 100 percent healthy after a small gesture on Monday at training camp made the day of one Panthers fan.

While some players have their character flaws and run-ins with the law, you can’t say that about the former No. 1 pick and two-time Pro Bowl selection who burst onto the scene for the Panthers three seasons ago and set NFL rookie passing records.

The littlest things can often have the biggest impact and that’s what happened today courtesy of the former Heisman winner and national champion from Auburn who is arguably the biggest sports star the Charlotte area has even seen.
