Like the little boy who cried wolf, the Raiders moving to a new city outside of the Bay Area has been something widely discussed since the team moved back to Oakland in the early 1990s. After a stint in Los Angeles, the Raiders moved back to Oakland in shady Al Davis fashion and have been drooling on themselves high atop the Colosseum walls trying to eye an new place to stake claim to.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, that place could be in West Texas and in San Antonio.
"Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis and two top lieutenants met recently with several San Antonio officials to discuss the potential of moving his NFL team from the Bay Area to the Alamo City, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed."
Adding a third NFL franchise to Texas — a state where it’s God, Guns and Football — makes way to much sense not to do. Moving the Raiders also makes too much sense not to happen as the team has been in need of new scenery for a while now and pitching a tent in San Antonio could be great for not only the city but also the franchise looking for a way to reinvent itself in the second decade of the 21st Century.
