According to early reports from the teams website, the cause of Price’s injury reserve status is undisclosed. The team has also parted ways with cornerback Chandler Fenner and offensive guard Bronson Irwin. They have signed former Minnesota Viking wide-out Randall Carroll. That deal has not been released. Earlier today the Seahawks added lineman Eric Winston and cornerback Terrell Thomas.
Taylor Price is a five year veteran who was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was released after the 2011 season only playing in four games. Picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Price found his way onto the injured reserve list in 2012 and then again in 2013. He was signed by the Seahawks on March 12th of this year.
The Seahawks are the odds on favorite to return to the Super Bowl and defend their 2013 championship. The team currently has 14 players on their roster who play wide-receiver including starters Doug Baldwin and Percy Harvin. The team lost Sidney Rice earlier this month when the 27 year old announced he was retiring following a series of injuries that included concussions and last years ACL tear that took him out most of the season.
The Seahawks still have some promising depth at the position that includes 2014 second round pick Paul Richardson of Colorado and fourth round pick Kevin Norwood of Alabama.
