Since he suffered one of the most gruesome leg injuries that we have ever seen on Friday night, the support that has been pouring in for Indiana Pacers star Paul George has been staggering. And on Saturday, as he recovers from the emergency surgery that he had to undergo, he was visited by the pound-for-pound best boxer on the planet, Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

George was playing in an exhibition contest on Friday night for Team USA when he landed awkwardly on the stanchion following a lay up attempt, and he ended up breaking both his tibia and fibula. With the recovery time, George will not be playing for the Pacers during the 2014-15 NBA season.

More from NBA

But if we have seen anything within the past 24 hours it’s been just how respected George is, not only among his peers in the NBA, but from others around the sports world. He’s one of the fastest rising stars in the NBA, and it’s been heartbreaking to see all of this play out for him.

There’s no doubt, though, that someone as tough as Mayweather knows how tough George is as well, and he more than likely reassured him that he will get through this and come back better than ever down the road.
