According to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel, the Miami Marlins have released former league MVP Miguel Tejada after his shoulder injury derailed his would-be comeback attempt.
"The Miami Marlins have released former All-Star infielder Miguel Tejada.Assigned to Double-A Jacksonville, Tejada totaled 14 at-bats over four games (May 31-June 4) before going on the disabled list with a right shoulder injury."
It’s been a long and often times difficult career for Tejada, who was once the MVP of baseball back during his glory days with the Oakland A’s but he’s stuck around far longer than the league has deemed necessary. There’s not taking away his better days, even if the steroid era was something that his career ultimately fell victim to, and this seems to now officially be the end of the road for the long time veteran of the league.
