One area where the Celtics would like to get better is by gaining more draft pick in future years, which is what they’re trying to do with the contract of Keith Bogans.
According to the Boston Globe, the Celtics are trying to trade Bogans contract for a draft pick, as that’s the outcome to the situation they’d love, but that’s a lot easier said than done.
"The Celtics would love to use Bogans’s contract in a trade that would perhaps net a draft pick and create salary-cap space and have been holding onto that option. It is uncertain if the Celtics would waive Bogans before the season or offer a camp invitation since he has been away from the team since February."
Bogans has been marginally successful in the places he’s gone, with his days in Brooklyn not counting among career-best season. Still, he’s in the NBA and at his age, he’s bound to find someone interested.
