The New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft this past May got quarterback Drew Brees and the rest of the offense some serious help by selecting the most prolific wide receiver coming out of college last year, Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks. So far, all the reports out of camp have been that he is simply amazing, and in his debut against the Rams on Thursday night, he proved everyone right.
Late in the third quarter, Cooks scored his first NFL touchdown really in the only fashion that he could, by catching the pass from Ryan Griffin and burning the defense on his way to the end zone for the six points, and to give his team the lead.
Yep. All of the reports from training camp that we’ve been getting thus far are accurate. This young man is not only for real, but he’s going to be one of the more valuable assets that this team has on the offensive side of the ball.
The scary part is, and not to take anything away from Ryan Griffin, but when he and Brees get together on the field for the regular season, there is no telling what is going to happen.
Good luck to the entire NFC South dealing with this for the next few seasons.
