The Chase Field D-bat Dog is 18 solid inches of cheese-and-bacon-stuffed corn doggy goodness. The only issue with the D-bat Dog is that, being 18 inches long, it’s a little bit difficult to handle.

Royals announcer Rex Hudler clearly doesn’t have enough practice handling things that are 18 inches long, because when he had a D-bat Dog delivered to the booth for him to try, he promptly spilled it all over the desk in front of him.
Undeterred, Hudler picked up the damaged D-bat Dog and scarfed it down anyway. Does the five second rule apply to broadcast booth surfaces?
I’m guessing if you’re willing to eat a D-bat Dog in the first place, you’re probably not too concerned about a few germs getting on your food. Rex Hudler has a pretty strong constitution so he should be fine.
And Hudler’s verdict? The D-bat Dog is pretty good, spilled and broken or not. Clearly, Rex Hudler is not all that picky about food. He will eat just about anything, the longer and more stuffed with cheese and bacon, the better.
Rex Hudler is a walking advertisment for America.
