Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was heavily criticized last season for his side line decorum, mostly for what looked like him yelling and berating quarterback Tony Romo.

The Cowboys maintained that Bryant’s sideline issues that day weren’t accurately conveyed on television, and side line cameras confirmed Bryant’s claim that his “out burst” was positive.

Bryant isn’t worried about his emotions being an issue in the upcoming season either.

“No, because I know how to handle myself,” Bryant said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I’m learning how to channel that in a more positive way. I know exactly what I’m doing when I’m out here on the field.”

It is an interesting proclamation considering that he got into an altercation with safety J.J. Wilcox earlier in training camp. Then more recently on Sunday, cornerback Orlando Scandrick and Bryant had to be separated after trash talking.

He downplayed it and said that it is just their competitive nature, even suggesting he might have to take it out on their opponents instead.

“Scandrick really got under our skin,” Bryant said. “I told the defensive backs as we were breaking down, ‘I’m mad that we didn’t get the best of y’all today and now we have to take it over to Oakland. I was really praising them, letting them know y’all got us today.

“You battle. You get under each other’s skin and at the end of the day we’re shaking hands, joking and laughing about some goofy stuff.”
