The Alabama Crimson Tide are again putting together another top notch class in 2015. The Tide already have 21 commitments, including three 5-Star prospects, wide receiver Calvin Ridley, quarterback Blake Barnett and cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick.

The Tide look like they’ll be doing much of the same in 2016. They entered the day with three commitments in the class of 2016, 5-Star athlete Demetris Robertson, 4-Star cornerback Shyheim Carter and 4-Star defensive tackle Benito Jones. On Monday night, the Tide landed their fourth commitment and second defensive tackle when 3-Star Raekwon Davis pledged to the Tide.

“They were my first offer, they think I can get down there and get it going,” Davis said via John Garcia, Jr. of Scout.com. “The Tide is coming, that’s all I have to tell them.”

Davis has actually been committed to the Tide for a few weeks.

“I committed to Alabama a couple of weeks ago,” Davis said. “It was just for me and ‘Bama to know. They were excited when I did it. Me and ‘Bama knew, and my coaches, nobody else knew. I told my coaches first, and they got me on the phone with Nick Saban and I told him.

“He (Saban) was happy to have me down there. He just wants me to keep that commitment and not break it.”

The 6’7, 315-pounder is from Meridian, Mississippi and attends Meridian High School. Davis will likely be a very highly regarded prospect, but 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings only consider him a 3-Star talent because he has not been ranked by 24/7 Sports yet. He also holds offers from the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels and South Carolina Gamecocks.
