San Francisco Giants issue statement on Robin Williams’ death

The entertainment world received terribly sad news on Monday night with the news that beloved comedian and actor Robin Williams had passed away at age 63.

What has been clear in the hours since Williams’ passing is the fact that his influence extended beyond the entertainment community. So many fans have expressed their sadness at losing Williams and indicated how much it meant to them to have Williams make them laugh all these years.

The loss of Williams was also felt in the Major League Baseball community. In particular the San Francisco Giants are mourning the loss, as Williams was one of their biggest fans.

As passed along by Scott Miller, the Giants issued a statement about Williams’ passing.

Williams made an impact on so many people with the joy that he brought and the way that he influenced fans. His loss is being felt by so many on this night and will be for a long time to come. That includes many figures in the world of sports, as there are surely many who share the sentiments of Williams’ favorite baseball team in San Francisco.
