The NBA schedule is set to be released tomorrow night but that’s not the only big announcement that will be coming to the Sacramento area this week.

More from NBA

In an effort to re-brand the team and get back to their roots, the Kings have revealed new uniforms for the 2014-15 season that will harken back to the uniforms worn in the 1990s and early 2000s when the team was actually respectable and not a laughable mess of a franchise.

It’s subtle changes to what the Kings have right now and it’s not a total throwback to what was worn in the 90s and 2000s by the team, but rather it’s a blending of both.

What is trying to be achieved here is a re-branding of a terrible team trying to get better. Sacramento has potential, as Nik Stauskas is in town to make things interesting, Rudy Gay is sticking around and Demarcus Cousins seems to be as motivated as ever to be something special.

All of that makes the Kings an exciting team to watch this year, and the new uniforms may make them better looking on the court in more than one way.
