A rather large scrum between the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys erupted at their joint practice on Tuesday. It all started when Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne laid a hit on a Raiders receiver, who didn’t appreciate it.

The oddest and perhaps scariest incident came when the scrum carried over to the fence separating fans from the field. Cowboys cornerback B.W. Webb was in the scrum and a Raiders fan swung his helmet at Webb, who retaliated by shoving back at the fan before being separated.

For context, NBCDFW has a full video of the fight. It also shows the fan swinging at Webb at the end, and Webb shoving in response.

Webb described the incident afterwards.

“Somebody came across on my head so I had to let them know this ain’t no play-play out here, man,’’ Webb said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I wasn’t expecting that but hey, whoever jumps on my back, I had to get them off.

“You’ve got to let them know the only thing protecting you is this fence. I just had to let him know I was here.’’

Webb didn’t have a problem with the scrum though.

“I loved it,’’ Webb said. “The intensity was up. Everyone was ready to ball. “It was love out there. I had a lot of fun out there today.’’
