The Chicago Bears haven’t had a great night against the Jacksonville Jaguars but that’s to be expected in the preseason.

More from Chicago Bears

Still, losing is never fun in the NFL, even if the games don’t count, and Chicago making a late fourth quarter push to win the game is proof of that. Something else it’s proof of is that there are players on the team ready to make plays, and one of those players is rookie running back Ka’Deem Carey.

Carey helped cut into the Jaguars lead on Thursday when the rookie scored late in the fourth quarter of Chicago’s second preseason game.

Carey is looking like he might be in line to backup Matt Forte in the Bears offense, which would be a huge boost for the rookie. Chicago has cycled through backups for Forte over the years and Carey’s fresh legs and hunger to prove himself may end up making the Bears offense even more explosive than it was last year.
