At just 5’7 and 180 lbs., the former Oklahoma Sooners’ star is going to have to carve out a role as a player who can do it all. He has played running back, wide receiver and has returned both punts and kicks. Finch didn’t play much in the Patriots’ preseason opener, a 23-6 loss to the Washington Redskins last Thursday night and was hoping to get more opportunities in Friday night’s preseason homer opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“You have to take advantage of anything that you can,” he told reporters at Gillette Stadium on Thursday via The Boston Globe. “That comes with anything, as a player, a reporter, whatever.”
Finch finally got that shot in the second half of Friday’s game. Midway through the quarter, Finch made the most of that chance, rushing for a 10-yard touchdown to cap a six-play, 80-yard drive led by third-string quarterback Ryan Finch.
You can see the touchdown below.
Finch has flashed his play-making ability and may carve out a spot on the Patriots’ roster.
