Nike recently teamed up with AKQA, an innovation and ideas company based in London that specializes in digital products and services, to make an LED basketball court for the Nike RISE basketball tour that is in China. Nike basketball trainers as well as Kobe Bryant are training young basketball players in China using this LED court that uses motion-tracking and reactive visualization to put players through drills based on Nike’s training.

More from NBA

Bryant trained with 3o players in China on the LED court in Shanghai while on the RISE tour that has given young Chinese players the chance to play in the Nike World Basketball Festival in Barcelona in September.

Bryant, 35, missed the entire 2013-2014 NBA season except for six games with injuries but appears to be healthy coming into the new season. He enters the year fourth on the all time scoring list (31,700 points) behind Michael Jordan (32,292), Karl Malone (36,928) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387). He’ll be chasing down Michael Jordan for the third spot this year where he only needs to average 2o points per game to pass Jordan less than half way through the season.

Bryant has been using his skill and leadership to educate basketball overseas and he’ll be bringing it back to help educate his young Lakers team.
