5 NFL teams with the biggest concerns for 2014
By Andrew Garda
Kansas City Chiefs
If you sense a theme at this point, we wouldn’t blame you.
The Kansas City Chiefs let Brandon Albert, Geoff Schwartz and Jon Asomoah go in free agency but while they could be confident that Eric Fisher was ready to take over at left tackle, they have been less successful at replacing the others.
Pro Football Focus recently ranked all the offenses in a recent ESPN article, breaking down the position groups as they did.
They ranked the Chiefs offensive line at No. 31. That’s a huge problem in a division with a solid Chargers defense and a very good Broncos defense. On top of that, they’ve got to contend with teams like New England and Cincinnati if they are to succeed in the playoffs—assuming they make it into the postseason.
Another concern would be the wide receivers. Really, it was shaky already and has only become more of a concern now that Dwayne Bowe’s finger is causing issues per ESPN’s Adam Teicher.
This was never the deepest group and Bowe hasn’t always performed at a high level, but losing him is a real issue.
At least Travis Kelce is playing well at tight end, going 4-of-4 and totaling 63 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.
