Last season, the Charlotte Hornets (then-Bobcats) included point guard Ramon Sessions in a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks for guards Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour, a far cry from when he was viewed as potential savior for the Los Angeles Lakers. In free agency, Sessions hasn’t drawn as much interest as he’d like and remains unsigned.

The Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat have all showed some interest in Sessions.

Rod Mahoney of Sports Illustrated Sessions likely won’t be able to get the type of deal he’s used to and will have to wait it out for the best offer.

"Many lesser point guards than Sessions have found employ this summer, leaving us to wonder why it is that the pick-and-roll specialist hasn’t yet found a team. There could be practical basketball reasons behind Sessions’ availability, such as his lack of shooting range (28.2 percent from three last season) or concerning defense. Market dynamics are surely in play as well, given that he’s drawn a $3-5 million salary for much of his career. There could be little opportunity for such a deal with so many teams stocked at point guard, leaving Sessions to wait it out for the best offer possible."

Sessions averaged 12.3 points, 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9% from the field, 28.2% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the free throw line for both the Bucks and Hornets last season. Sessions, who has also played for the Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers, has put up 11.7 points, 4.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 43.9% from the field, 31.1% from three and 80.0% from the charity stripe in his seven-year career.
