With most NFL records, the effort to even approach them has to be downright Herculean. We saw that two years ago when Adrian Peterson averaged 131.1 rushing yards per game, yet he still fell short of Eric Dickerson’s single-season record. The same can be said about LaDainian Tomlinson’s 31 touchdowns in a season.
