The Los Angeles Clippers made a run at swingman Paul Pierce before he signed with the Washington Wizards and are reportedly currently making an attempt to sign veteran guard Ray Allen.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

According to Jabari Davis of Basketball Insiders, the Clippers are looking for another piece and he sees free agent swingman Ronnie Brewer as a potentially solid addition.

"Great point with Barnes as he does tend to miss a bit of action and have his ups and downs from time to time. My guess is that a guy like Reggie Bullock is going to be given the opportunity to earn some playing time. He didn’t play all that much last season, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see them give him a decent look at least through training camp, preseason, and the early going. Brewer is an interesting alternative for teams looking for swingman depth, as I believe he recently resolved the legal issues he was dealing with. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on a roster at some point this season."

Brewer played in 24 games last season for the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls last season. The 29-year old has averaged 7.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 49.0% from the field, 25.4% from beyond the arc and 67.5% from the foul line in his eight-year career.

Not only are the Clippers looking to add Allen but they have also been linked to Charlotte Hornets’ free agent guard Chris Douglas-Roberts and Milwaukee Bucks’ free agent center Ekpe Udoh.

Although they are still short on money, look for the Clippers to add one more player before the season begins.
