Despite having three quarterback on their 53-man roster as it is, the Packers are trying out free agents to see who might provide them with a gem other teams aren’t identifying at the moment.

According to Field Yates, the Packers are neck deep in quarterbacks — and likely content as such — but brought in three quarterbacks to work out this past week.

It’s possible that the Packers are looking for a replacement for Tolzien but the most likely option is that they’re trying to find a guy for the practice squad. Last year when Aaron Rodgers went down, the team was broken and almost missed the postseason. Signing one of these three quarterbacks isn’t a solution to that problem, but the Packers learned last year you can never have enough quarterback depth these days.
