The Miami Heat have a rivalry with the Cleveland Cavaliers that is only now starting to get interesting. Back when LeBron James left north Ohio for South Beach, the Cavaliers were fielding an awful team that couldn’t compete but things have changed now that King James is back.

Aside from joining Luol Deng as a former member of the Bulls to join rank with the Heat, Mohammed would give the Heat something they’ve been lacking even in the LeBron years — center depth and height. With virtually no one there to hold down the front court, the Heat need height and depth to play around with at center and it’s something that may come back in a matchup against the Cavaliers.

Cleveland is seriously lacking center depth, and by countering that with Mohammed — should he be signed — the Heat would have a leg up on the Cavaliers in a way that could be fatal.
