Sports apparel companies are bound to make mistakes in this day and age and Sports Authority is no exception. With both the NFL and college football returning, it is prime time for companies like Sports Authority to start unveiling new lines of team apparel for thousands of fans around the country.

The mistakes we commonly see on sports apparel are usually team names being spelled incorrectly, inaccurate logos being used, and the year the school was established being falsified.

Today Sports Authority unveiled a new line of college football graphic t-shirts, and made a mistake unlike any we have ever seen before.

Marquette football, or otherwise known as the Marquette Golden Avalanche, was terminated in 1960 after 68 years of collegiate football due to budget deficits and poor play from the team. In their history, the team only made it to one postseason bowl game, the 1936 Cotton Bowl, which they lost 16-6 against TCU.

This was obviously an egregious error by Sports Authority, but it is absolutely hilarious nonetheless. Anyone and everyone at Marquette university should try and get their hands on one of these shirts before they are eventually pulled from the shelves. Time to celebrate that Golden Avalanche pride and remember the good old days of having a football team.
