Denver Broncos

The 2013 Denver Broncos put together one of the most dynamic offensive performances in the history of the NFL, and they may be better in 2014. Granted, the loss of Eric Decker will likely be felt, even if Emmanuel Sanders pans out in his stead, but the offensive line returns Pro Bowl tackle Ryan Clady and the upgrade from Knowshon Moreno to a healthy Montee Ball could be significant if everything goes according to plan. Unfortunately, the team did lose Wes Welker to a four-game suspension, but if there is a group built to withstand that loss, it resides in Denver.

Even if Denver takes a minor step back offensively (and the trends indicate that they likely will), the defense should be significantly better this season. The Broncos added DeMarcus Ware, Aqib Talib and T.J. Ward, each of whom could play at a Pro Bowl level, while losing only an aging Champ Bailey, and Denver also spent a top pick on CB Bradley Roby to bolster their depth in the secondary.

The Broncos are set to improve on a defense that was 15th in DVOA last season, and it would be borderline irresponsible to suggest that they aren’t an elite offense. Put the two together and the results are fruitful.

Oh, I guess I should mention Peyton Manning. He’s pretty good.

The Pick: 13-3
