The Miami Heat added Danny Granger this season to see if he can’t help fill the void the LeBron James left when he bolted for Cleveland this summer.

More from Miami Heat

But the best years of Granger’s career seem to be behind him — or are they? Despite the down-swing he’s had in the recent years of his career, Granger still possesses a lot of superstar qualities and that’s what the Heat paid for this summer, even if that pay was dirt cheap.

Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel opines that Danny Granger could revert back to his superstar ways now that he’s in the right environment with the Heat.

"While there is no doubt that Dwyane Wade’s return to form is the key for the re-imagined Heat, Granger stands as the newcomer who could provide the greatest unexpected boost. Josh McRoberts and Luol Deng are known quantities; they do what they do and they do it efficiently, if not spectacularly. But Granger not so long ago was a player opponents game-planned against."

Granger no doubt had a good run when he was playing at his best and there might still be more of that left in him. The bottom line is that he’s not going to go quietly with Miami has he is playing for his next contract with the Heat and he knows that more eyes will be on him than ever.
