The Oklahoma State Cowboys nearly pulled off the upset last week against the No. 1 team in the nation as they lost 37-31 to the Florida State Seminoles, and any other potential upsets took a hit with today’s injury to quarterback J.W. Walsh.

More from College Football

Oklahoma State’s starting quarterback injured his ankle in the first quarter and was seen favoring the right ankle after Rennie Child’s two-yard touchdown gave the Pokes a 10-0 lead over Missouri State.

Walsh went to the locker room to have his injury looked at and receive treatment but emerged from the locker room on crutches, making his return doubtful for the remainder of the game.

Walsh led the Cowboys in passing and rushing last Saturday when he scored three touchdowns, but his fumble late in the fourth quarter all but sealed their fate as Florida State scored from 50 yards out two plays later.

With Walsh likely out for the remainder of the game and perhaps longer, Daxx Garman takes over under center and led the team to a touchdown drive on his second series as they have build a 24-6 lead at the half.
