On Friday, we had something of a Bizarro fantasy baseball stats day, with some unusual players putting up dominant performances in unusual categories. Saturday was the opposite, with some of the game’s biggest names putting up big fantasy baseball stats in exactly the places you’d expect.

We start with a couple of guys that you’ve probably heard of once or twice.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats MVP

Albert Pujols — Los Angeles Angels

A big day from a guy who can apparently still play this game at a pretty high level. Heck, he can even get around the bases when needed.

Pujols’ draft stock had definitely dropped heading into this year so if you got him late or at a bargain, congratulations. He’s now on pace to hit just under 30 homers and drive in 100 runs.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Stats Honorable Mentions

1. Miguel Cabrera — Detroit Tigers

[table id=1201 /]

Getting to Madison Bumgarner and Sergio Romo, this was Miggy’s second two-homer day in the week. Even without the great power that we’re used to, Cabrera is having a tremendous all around season. Hitting two homers with an obviously bad ankle is nothing to sneeze at.

While we’re on the power issue, Cabrara’s not quite on pace for it, but I wouldn’t bet against Miggy getting to 30 homers this year.

2. Corey Kluber — Cleveland Indians

[table id=1198 /]

While his previous start was nothing to write home about, Kluber has been a quality start machine this year. Actually, he’s been pretty dominant, just as he was on Saturday against the White Sox.

Kluber was a true sleeper heading into the year. If you ended up with him, that’s excellent foresight as you have a legitimate ace on your staff.

3. Francisco Liriano — Pittsburgh Pirates

[table id=1199 /]

The only bad thing here was that Liriano only got six outings out of this. Dang pitch count. Oh well, we’ll happily take it. Well, we’ll happily take it if we have Liriano on our fantasy rosters. If our rival has him, we grudgingly accept it.

While he did have a rough outing against the Braves mixed in there, Liriano has now thrown a quality start in eight of his last nine outings. He’s also got decent availability. I’d check right now to see if he’s still there to be had in your league. If so, ride the hot hand.
